Where to begin

It's been sooooo long since I posted to this I don't even know if this is still active. But I'm gonna give it a shot. The past year has been so interesting. I've had 3 major surgeries and my life has change more than I ever thought possible..

June 14, 2010 - I had lap band surgery and to date I've lost just over 140 pounds!

November 10, 2010 - Emergency Surgery of the repair of a large inguinal hernia.

March 23, 2011 - Major back surgery. Lumbar fusion of L3-4 and L4-5, Spinal decompression and Discectomy. I've been of work since then and just got released yesterday to return to work!!!

Uncle Pops Came to visit

My brother-in-law Pete is coming to visit us tonight and are the girls so excited. You would think that the pope was coming. They sure do love their Uncle Pops. He's in town for a "lay over" if you will. He's just finish helping my Nephew Tony move to Pensacola. Yeah, another family member in Florida. So it's a pretty round about trip. He lives in Kentucky, Tony lived in Tennessee and he helped him move to Florida. He's a good guy.

Work is good about the same really, going through some changes there right now and actually I'm kind of looking forward to it. We'll see how it goes. I'll keep you posted.

Love ya all,

Cleo

Long weekend

Well I had a nice long weekend, and hope that all those reading this did as well. It was a nice quiet week-end. Jessica and Scott and the girls went to the Kennedy Space Center for the week-end and I actually did nothing on Saturday, but then felt the need to stitch. So I started a quilt top on Sunday and finished it today. I'm gonna try and quilt it next weekend, we'll see. It's a fairly simple quilt but I love the fabrics I've had them a while and know just who this one is destined to go to. Then when the family got home, Jessica had brought/bought me fabric :) that's the kinda gift I love to receive. It was bound to be a Fabric inspired weekend. She brought me my all time favorite 1930's reproductions. Now I'll have to think of something to do with them. Quilt Blogs Galore (http://www.quilterscache.com/QuiltBlocksGalore.html) here I come. That's one of my favorite places to get block designs. Ok, well I'll sign off for now. When the quilt is done I'll post a photo of it.

Love to you all,

Cleo

Hip Hip Horray

Erik went to the Dr today. They got test results back they have a diagnosis and treatment plan. I am so relieved for Erik and happy for my sister Coleen.

You see my sister is an awesome woman. She went back to school a few years ago. She graduated with her Bachelors last May from the University of Utah and was excepted to the Masters program in Social Work. She was scheduled to start today. So this past 6 weeks of Eric's health issues did little to prepare her for today. But start she did. She is such a wonderful woman and I am honored to call her my SISTER. Isn't she awesome!

Love to all,

Update on everything

Everyone is safe and sound a couple of branches from the Pecan tree on the ground, lots (I mean LOTS) of water. But we are all fine. The girls are bored and ready to go back to school.

It was Friday night and that meant sleep over in Grandma's room, aka, after 20 minutes they are asleep and grandma goes to living room and sleeps on the couch :). Oh well they like it.

Also, Eric and Delos are both home from the hospital. (let's keep it that way please)

Love ya all,

Cleo

Eric is home and doing better.

However, Delos is back at the hospital no word yet as to whether he'll be admitted or not. So please remember them both in your prayers.

Love to all,

Cleo

Update Regarding Eric

It's been a Day

Well we had a long day at home today. Everybody was off work and the Girls were off school for the second day and we just found out no school again tomorrow. They are thrilled, Scott's work is closed but Jessica and I won't find out anything until tomorrow morning. What a day. Well for my Family that reads up on us back here in Florida, We are all fine getting a bit of house fever but we're all fine.

Special thoughts and prayers to my brother Delos, who hopefully got to go home from the hospital today. And to my nephew Eric who is home recovering from yet another test. I pray that they will figure out what's going on with you both of you and fix it.

Love to all,

Cleo

The Day of Hurricane Fay.

Ok it's only the 3rd day of school and Fay has seen to it that we'll be using at least 2 of the "weather days". But it gives me an opportunity to add this post. I'm gonna attach a couple of photos from the 1st day of 1st grade :)

Aren't we cute!
And they just held hands on their own. Such loving sisters.

Annastazia loves to smile.
Charlottie is just ready to go.

Humana Family

I had an enjoyable visit last night with some of my Humana Family from years gone by. We chatted for a couple of hours and it was so nice to just catch up. It's easy to forget how much you miss your friends and then you see each other again and it seems like it was just yesterday. I commit to not letting so much time pass before we see each other again.
